Though she is originally from Guaymas, Veronica has lived in Puerto Peñasco for the past 14 years. She has experience in retail and housekeeping but is currently dedicated to her home and her family. Jose has lived all his life in Peñasco and has worked in construction and as a painter. They have three children. The older two, Irving and Andrea attend school and their four old granddaughter Zaray, is in pre-school. Zaray has lived with them for the past two years as her mother is unable to provide a secure home for her. During the pandemic, Veronica taught herself to bake bread and cakes. Jose is self-taught as well and enjoys watching tutorial videos to learn how to paint using texture and various plaster finishes. The family has a title to a land lot, but have not been able to afford to build a home on their own. They have always rented and have become frustrated as they would put in the effort to improve their rental but it was never their own place. They are excited about the possibility of a home of their own that will help them create a secure future for their children.
